Nafisa Talukder

Tele-Health Psychologist

Nafisa Talukder is a Registered Psychologist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a General member of Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).

Nafisa has the experience working with different age group and presentation of clients, including mental health disorders, young people and their difficulties embracing certain issues, depression and anxiety related issues, and dealing with people who has been affected by jurisdiction system. This elaborate range of experience has made Nafisa interested to work collaboratively with clients despite any age or issues, and collaboratively achieve their goals. Nafisa is trained on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT therapy), Trauma-focused CBT (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing for drug related issues and mindfulness practice to enhance focus and decrease stress.

Nafisa has experience working across a range of settings, including Mental Health hospital, NDIS, government clinics, schools for special need children, Headspace, and Correctional centre. Nafisa believes this range of experience helps her to explore clients’ journey without any judgement and continue to embrace an empathetic approach during the session. Nafisa is keen to continue to offer her services through Telehealth to individuals in need of psychological support.

Nafisa has experience and training working with people with different presentations such as depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, substance-use, suicidal thoughts and self-harm, emotional dysregulation, guilt and remorse. Any complex mental health issues including personality disorder and eating disorders.

Nafisa usually believes six sessions over video call or telephone can offer a great benefit in a client’s life. Any changes in this process can be discussed with the client and tailored around to their presentation.
